for New Clients
Why Mint?
This herb is associated with healing and purification. In folklore, mint was used to protect against harm. Moving beyond symbolism, there’s a more—ahem—organic reason for choosing this herb to represent new beginnings:
The lovely thriving mint in the header photo is growing in poop. Literally.
Earlier this summer, I planted a tiny pot of mint with only a few leaves into the top of the experimental barrel filter next to my duck “pond” (a large metal tank). Its roots sit directly in the poopy duck water, helping to filter out waste as the water flows back into the pond. If you’ve been around ducks, you know that they poop a LOT, so these plants have been busy! Mint is also associated with friendship. The petunia growing next to the mint isn’t supposed to like “wet feet.” It shouldn’t have survived in this setting, especially since the ducks love to nibble it. Down to the nub. Given a short rest, though, it bounces back and blooms companionably alongside the mint. In poop. With wet “feet.”
I believe that we all have “mint potential”—the capacity to thrive even when some aspects of life really stink. If you need help to get there, please explore the Mint Plan described below and then schedule a free “no strings” consultation call to determine whether we are a good fit.
